Card Glance is a card scanner. It needs very little about you, and this page says exactly what it keeps, who it passes things to, and how to have it all removed.

What the app stores about you

  • An account identifier. Everyone gets an anonymous account on first launch. If you sign in with Google, we store your Google account's email address and the identifier Google gives us, so your scans, level and plan follow you to a new phone.
  • Your usage. How many scans you have made, in which month, and whether each ended in a priced card. This is what your monthly allowance is counted against.
  • Your progress. XP, level and which badges you have earned.
  • Your subscription state. Which plan you are on, when it renews, and identifiers Apple gives us for the purchase. We never see your payment details; Apple handles the transaction.
  • Your shop, if you are in one. The shop's name, who its members are, and how many scans each member made this month, visible to the shop's owner.
  • A leaderboard entry. Off by default, and anonymous until you turn it on. See below.

What stays on your phone

Your card photos, your collections and their values live on your phone, not on our servers. A photo is sent away only at the moment of a scan, to be identified, and is not stored by us afterwards. Deleting the app deletes them.

Who else sees a scan

  • Anthropic receives the card photo to identify it. Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models.
  • PriceCharting and SportsCardsPro receive the card's description (name, set, number) to look up a price. They do not receive your photo or anything about you.
  • eBay receives a search for the card to return live listings, and our affiliate identifier if you tap through to eBay. Nothing about you is sent.
  • Google Firebase hosts the service: authentication, the database holding the items above, and the functions that talk to the three services just listed.
  • Apple tells us whether a subscription is active, and we tell Apple nothing beyond the transaction we are asking about.

Nobody buys or sells your data, and there is no advertising anywhere in Card Glance.

Counting visits to this website

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits, but only if you agree when asked. Decline and no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent — the choice is remembered in your browser, not in a cookie, so declining leaves nothing behind. It measures pages on this website only: which pages people read, roughly where in the world they are, and what kind of device they used. It knows nothing about your cards, your scans, your collection, or your account.

The app also reports anonymous usage — which screens are opened, whether a scan found a price, and whether the photo cropped cleanly — so the scans that fail can be found and fixed. It never includes your photos, the cards you scanned, their values, or anything from your account, and it carries no advertising identifier. Switch it off any time under Settings › Privacy and it stops immediately.

The leaderboard is opt-in

Public leaderboards show the busiest scanners each month and all time. By default you appear under a generated anonymous name such as "Holo Toploader 4821" — nothing that identifies you. Only if you turn on "List me by nickname" in the app does a name of your choosing appear, along with your level if you leave that switched on. Your Google account name and email are never shown publicly. Switch it off at any time and your entry goes back to being anonymous.

The launch email list

If you give us your email address on this website, we store the address and the date and use it to tell you when the app is released and if a TestFlight place is available. Nothing else, and no sharing. Reply to any message, or write to us, to be removed.

Children

Card Glance is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Families do use the app together — if a child has given us information and you would like it removed, write to us and we will remove it.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your account for as long as you use the app. To have your account and everything attached to it deleted, write to support@cardglance.app from the address you signed in with, or from any address if you use an anonymous account and can tell us the account identifier shown in Settings. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app will point you here. Material changes will be announced in the app.
